Born in Istanbul in 1976, where layers of history and modernity converge, Efe Aydar has built a career at the intersection of art, design, and cultural heritage. His creative journey began at Anadolu University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, where he specialized in Interior Design, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of spatial storytelling.

Following his graduation, Aydar deepened his practice in Italy, working in Genova and immersing himself in the country’s rich design traditions. This period refined his sensibility for craftsmanship and detail, qualities that continue to define his work today.

For more than two decades, he served as executive designer and managing partner in leading design practices, shaping projects that spanned hospitality, gastronomy, and aviation across Turkey and abroad. His work earned recognition through numerous international awards, cementing his reputation as a visionary in the field.

In 2022, he founded Studio Efe Aydar, a platform dedicated to architectural and interior design driven by narrative and cultural depth. The studio’s portfolio includes landmark projects such as the transformation of Sanasaryan Han into a Marriott Luxury Collection hotel, as well as the celebrated Avantgarde Cappadocia. Today, Studio Efe Aydar’s reach extends to Zurich, Vienna, New York, Montenegro, London, Dubai, Malta, and Paris.

Beyond design, Aydar is also an author. His 2021 essay collection, Cennete Gideceksem Cehennemim de Gelmeli (If I’ll Go to Heaven, My Hell Must Come Too), published by Doğan Egmont, was met with critical acclaim and affirmed his place as a thoughtful voice in contemporary literature. In the summer of 2025, he released his second book, Gerisi Sessizlik (The Rest is Silence), further expanding his multidisciplinary practice into the realm of writing.

Amidst his professional achievements, Aydar remains deeply grounded by family life, as a husband and father, weaving personal meaning into the broader tapestry of his creative journey.
